Sweetwater

In Reciprocity

Sweetwater is deeply connected to the landscapes of Cape Town and the Western Cape.

From the protected forests of Orange Kloof and trails that have held countless walks, to the mountain springs that become the Hout Bay River, and further north to the ancient rock and vast night skies of the Cederberg.

These places have deeply informed the experiences and philosophy of Sweetwater.

A portion of every purchase from + Beyond the Retreat contributes to two local organisations working to protect and care for these special landscapes and waterways.

Friends of the Rivers of Hout Bay

Friends of the Rivers of Hout Bay works to protect and restore the rivers that begin in the mountain catchments and flow through the valley toward the sea.

Water sits at the heart of Sweetwater. Giving back begins with the waterways closest to home.

As Sweetwater Grows

Giving back will grow with it.

For now, a portion of every + Beyond the Retreat purchase supports local organisations caring for the mountains, rivers and wild places that shape Sweetwater.

Over time, that contribution will take other forms too: time, hands, gatherings, and greater care in the ways the land is walked and the water entered.
